Moongchi is designed from a strong fascination for the magical iron fillings showing the direction of a magnetic field.

Mainly magnetic particles, the iron fillings come to life around magnets, forming unique patterns and textures under influence of the magnetic field.

Moongchi clock uses these black iron fillings instead of your conventional hour and minute hand. Because the iron fillings in moving magnetic field behaves in an unpredictable way, it gives the perception that hour and minute dot are living creatures dancing in an imaginary circle to tell the time and makes invisible time tangible reality.

The magnetic fillings lie on the front the front brass dial, while meticulously 3D printed hands with magnets at an angle guide it around.
